The Elementary school Skärgårdshavets skola is a school with students from preschool to grade 9. The Finnish school Ulkosaariston koulu, Korpo Library, Korpo Kindergarten and the central kitchen are also located in the same building, the school centre. The school is attended by pupils from Korpo and in grades 7-9 also from the Houtskär municipality area.
The school has a total of about 50 students taught by 13 teachers. Some teachers are shared with Kyrkbackens skola in Nagu and Ulkosaariston koulu. School life is characterised by a natural cooperation across language borders, as break areas, classrooms and the teachers' room are shared by both schools. A large proportion of pupils come to the school by taxi and bus, and travel by one to three ferries to get to the school.
The school is located close to nature, with the sea on one side and the forest on the other. The school actively promotes outdoor activities and as an extra subject in grades 8-9 there is a subject called Archipelago Studies, which highlights old archipelago traditions and new thinking about industries and tourism. The school cooperates with the Finnish school and with the schools in Nagu and Houtskär on various events and excursions.
