Weekend In Creative Korpo

Hip, hip, VIKK!!!

The Weekend in Creative Korpo (VIKK) event is organised on the first weekend of each month (not June-August) to create a more lively and attractive archipelago during the off-season. The event brings together the events and activities of various local actors over a weekend to activate locals and attract visitors from other municipalities.

Creative Korpo Weekend offers events and activities for a wide range of client groups, from concerts and theatre performances to children's dances and family gatherings. Why not book a stay in of the village's cosy b&b and come to Korpo to enjoy the peace and quiet of the archipelago for a weekend.

Archipelago Sea Jazz presents: Mika Kallio Gong Odyssey

More info
Mika Kallio Gong Odyssey
In April, the exciting ensemble Mika Kallio Gong Odyssey will perform in the Archipelago Centre Korpoström on 14 April and the church on Utö on 15 April.
Percussion artist Mika Kallio's fourth solo album Gong Odyssey was released in June 2022 and received with enthusiasm. The album, which is one of this year's disc events, is dominated by gongs, round metal percussion instruments of various sizes. Characteristically for gongs, the album's compositions hover in the borderland between ambient and improvised music. Kallio boldly ventures into uncharted territories, creating a sonic space where time ceases to exist.
Tickets €15, duration about 1 hour. No age limit.
Mika Kallio - gongs and synthesiser
Jussi Fredriksson - gongs and synthesizers
Jaska Lukkarinen - gongs, synthesiser and percussion instruments
Max Zenger - bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet and percussion instruments
